Nemaha County Hospital, located in Auburn, Nebraska, had a growing need for additional ancillary support services, improve interior traffic control and an updating of its’ building to meet current handicapped accessible codes. The project consisted of additions of 10,000 sq. ft. for expansion of the emergency department, office space for home health, cardiac rehabilitation department, educational/meeting room, expanded administration suite, enlarged dining and kitchen facilities and new main entry. A new canopy was added at the main entrance of the hospital for weather protection of patients and staff. Interior spaced remodeled included: 19,000 sq. ft. to accommodate upgrades of most of the departments in the facility. The majority of the HVAC equipment was upgraded and two-thirds of the existing hospital was re-roofed.
