This new elementary school occupies part of the former Grace University site near downtown Omaha. The site is 3.42 acres and has been a place of education for over 100 years, which created many challenges and opportunities. There is a 34 foot drop across the site, allowing the new three story facility to have exits onto grade from all levels. The design works to be a good steward of natural resources through the preservation of the embodied energy of both the existing gymnasium building, and the reuse of the building structure of the connected student center. The site also preserves the natural historic landscape, on the west portion of the site along 10th Street.
