Peru State College capitalized on the opportunity to purchase the former elementary school that was directly north of their Oak Bowl Complex, with the anticipation that the compact and open plan of the former school would accommodated the growth needs of the Athletic Department as identified in the Campus Master Plan. With a limited budget to complete the first of a three phased project, JJA worked with the college to identify the immediate needs the facility should fulfill and what infrastructure needed to be in place to accomplish the college’s long term goals. The exterior of the building was made watertight and upgraded finishes to blend with the recently completed Oak Bowl Complex. A Locker Room for 120 football players was provided with new restroom and shower facilities. New electrical and plumbing services were installed to meet the demands of a high tech training facility. Temporary infrastructure, and minor modifications were also provided until funding is available to complete Phase II and III. This will allow the Athletic Department to fully utilized all existing spaces and fully serve the student athletes’ needs.
