Remodeling Existing Building & Addition

Project Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Completion Date: May 1988

Cost: $437,700

Size:  1,545 sq. ft. addition

The credit union wanted to develop a new branch to service the present membership in a convenient location and for developing new memberships. The design concept was to integrate new construction with the existing facility in terms of function and appearance. Thus a 1,545 sq. ft. addition was constructed, which included a lobby, offices, teller line, drive-up teller area and vault; with the existing building incorporating offices, accounting areas, conference area, record vault, toilet facilities, storage and mechanical spaces. New construction consisted of slab-on-grade, wood and steel frame construction. The exterior façade features a textured brick veneer and smooth ceramic granite tile. The use of warm interior finishes, wood trim and natural lighting created an open and inviting space for users. The vaulted ceiling in the lobby incorporated north glass with south facing clerestory windows. A drive-up canopy was also designed. This facility provides full range services.
